Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer – PCCS (Containers)
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Business & Team: CTO - Cloud Integration
Impact & contribution: The cloud movement at CommBank is going strong and continues to grow. We are looking for out of the box thinkers who want to use technology to work on real-world problems that have the potential to change the lives of our 17 million+ customers.
The successful applicant will join a team tasked to build and operate 50+ Kubernetes clusters for the bank. You will be expected to continuously improve the platform through DevSecOps model. The team has very technical individuals who loves AWS and Kubernetes.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Ensure the platform is running 24/7 and respond to incidents as needed.
- Design and build all aspects of an enterprise platform, e.g. tooling, CI/CD, Security, Observability.
- Coach other engineers to uplift the engineering quality and velocity.
- Share engineering knowledge through presentation, blogs, videos with the broader engineering community.
- Collaborate with Product Owner and team to create relevant engineering roadmaps.
Essential skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
- Minimum 8 years of experience.
- Have very good system design/architecture knowledge.
- Have very good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Have a growth mindset and can drive continuous improvements.
- Possesses technical hands-on experience in AWS.
- Hands on working with various scripting/programming languages such as Python and Golang is a must.
- Hands on working experience with Kubernetes technology is a must.
- API development and integrations.
- Highly proficient with versioning systems and CI/CD tools like; GitHub Github Action, Artifactory, GitOps tools - ArgoCD.
- Highly proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools like; AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, Ansible
- Advanced knowledge in Linux internal and be able to troubleshoot complex issues is desirable.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
