Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and coordination for a large-scale institutional construction project near Jaipur. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring project timelines, cost controls, and resource planning are effectively managed and aligned with contractual commitments.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
  • Develop WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) aligned with project scope.
  • Create manpower histograms, resource loading plans, and cash flow projections.
  • Establish project milestones in line with contractual requirements.

2. Monitoring & Control

  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against baseline schedules.
  • Conduct delay analysis and prepare recovery plans.
  • Identify critical path activities and suggest mitigation measures.
  • Generate MIS reports for senior management and client meetings.

3. Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with site execution teams, procurement, design consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct weekly review meetings and prepare MOMs.
  • Support Project Manager in progress presentations to clients.
  • Prepare client billing backup documents linked with physical progress.

4. Cost & Resource Management

  • Assist in cost monitoring and budget tracking.
  • Analyze productivity rates and resource utilization.
  • Support procurement planning in coordination with materials department.

5. Risk & Claims Management

  • Identify project risks and maintain risk register.
  • Assist in Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay documentation.
  • Maintain proper documentation for contractual correspondence.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in MSP/Primavera P6 (Mandatory).
  • Sound knowledge of institutional construction methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Understanding of contractual clauses (FIDIC or similar).
  • Ability to handle multi-disciplinary coordination.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Advanced level preferred).


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in institutional, hospital, university, or large campus projects.
  • Exposure to projects valued above 100 Cr.
  • Experience working with reputed developers or EPC contractors.
  • Experience close to 15 years or more.

  • Adherence to approved project timelines.
  • Accuracy of planning reports and forecasts.
  • Timely identification of project risks.
  • Effective coordination across departments.
  • Support in achieving project completion within schedule and budget.


Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: Project Manager / Project Director
  • Coordinates with: Site Engineers, QA/QC, Procurement, Billing, and Client Representatives
