Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Role Summary

The Oracle Database Administrator (12 15 Yrs. Exp) will be responsible for administering and supporting Oracle Database environments, experience in other Databases i.e. PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc. will be good to have, including single-instance and RAC configurations, across production and non-production systems. The role focuses on high availability, performance, stability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle databases (Single Instance & RAC) in production and non-production environments
• Manage Oracle RAC clusters, including node addition/removal, CRS health, and interconnect troubleshooting
• Perform database performance monitoring and tuning (SQL, memory, I/O, waits)
• Execute database patching, PSU/RU upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance
• Manage backup and recovery using RMAN, including restore and recovery testing
• Support incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem resolution
• Ensure high availability, data integrity, and security of database environments
• Perform routine DBA activities such as space management, user management, health checks, and capacity planning
• Participate in planned maintenance windows, DR drills, and upgrade activities
• Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and application teams for issue resolution

• PostgreSQL (clustered env.) , MySQL Hands on Experience
• Linux/Unix platforms
• RMAN, Data Guard
• Performance tuning tools and AWR/ASH

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience as a Core Oracle DBA with RAC
• Proven expertise in Oracle RAC administration and troubleshooting
• Strong hands on experience on PostgreSQL & MySQL
• Experience supporting mission-critical production systems
• Solid knowledge of backup/recovery, performance tuning, and patching
• Good understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
