Job description:

Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure. The engineer will handle escalations from L1, assist with configuration and basic implementation of routers and switches, and ensure network uptime and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds or Nagios.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues at Layer 13.
• Perform basic configuration and verification on Cisco

Switches and routers

• Handle incidents and service requests related to routing, switching, and connectivity.
• Work on VLAN, STP, EtherChannel, Port Security, and Access Lists (ACL).
• Support routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
• Coordinate with ISP vendors for WAN link issues.
• Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 and follow up for resolution.
• Maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.
• Participate in change activities during maintenance windows.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP.
• Hands-on knowledge of Cisco routers and switches (IOS commands).
• Familiarity with routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP,
• Basic knowledge of BGP and NAT.
• Understanding of VLANs, trunking (802.1Q), and inter-VLAN routing.
• Familiar with tools like Wireshark or packet capture utilities.
• CCNA certification (or equivalent knowledge) preferred.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Good documentation and ticketing discipline.
• Ability to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
• Quick learner and proactive in troubleshooting.
