Position: Senior Merchandiser

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

Experience: 820 years in Export Merchandising (preferably knits)

Qualification: B.Tech / B.Sc / M.Sc / MBA in Textile, Apparel, Fashion or Related field

The candidate should preferably have a base in West Bengal.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Merchandise Manager to lead our merchandising division. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of merchandisers, manage end-to-end operations, and ensure seamless coordination between buyers, production, and internal departments. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to work with reputed international buyers and drive process excellence within a dynamic export setup.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end merchandising for garments

Ensure timely materials, trims, and approvals before PCD

Oversee sampling, bulk production, and quality standards

Coordinate with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams for smooth order flow

Track trims and accessories, production, and shipment schedules

Negotiate price, quality, and timelines effectively

Drive process improvements in the organization

Lead, guide, and develop a team of merchandisers and act as a mentor

Maintain strong, professional relationships with buyers and agents

Skill Required:

• Strong knowledge of fabric, trims & production
• Proven experience handling international clients, preferably European
• Excellent communication, coordination and negotiation skills
• Skilled in leadership and team management
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and strong in multi-tasking
• Proficiency in MS Excel and General computer operations (windows environment)
• Experience handling international buyer portals (For order uploads, comments and approvals)
