We're looking for an enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Bengaluru. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to leave their mark on some of the most exciting projects in the UK.


Your next role

  • Lead the HVAC from concept to detailed design stages.
  • Detailed design drawings with a specialisation in mechanical design - e.g. HVAC, etc in UK and international codes of practice.
  • Carry out mechanical design calculations, sizing, equipment selection, layouts and technical reports.
  • Prepare technical specifications and schedules and design development reports.
  • Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work.
  • Keep leadership design team members informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the BuroHappold and the client are achieved.
  • Manage project finances, monitor scope, and ensure quality
  • Plan and organise your workload to ensure that you are meeting clients expectations.
  • Attending client, site and external design team meetings.
  • Support junior engineers and participate in internal design reviews to ensure quality and consistency


Your skills and experience

  • 6+ years' experience in building services design engineering;
  • Experience in HVAC Designing is a must
  • Experience of working with international codes such as British Standards, NFPA, IBC, etc.
  • Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.
  • Broad building design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects.
  • Excel skills (a detailed understanding including the use of macros).
  • Although mechanically biased it is expected that you will have a good understanding of electrical concepts and their impact upon the overall project. Ideally also showing an awareness of other key design team members such as architects, structural and civil engineers.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM and mechanical design software.
  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree in relevant subject.
