Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks) with strong experience in mould design, composite structures, additive manufacturing, and mechanical product development. The candidate will play a key role in end-to-end product design, vendor coordination, and engineering documentation for advanced robotic and marine systems.

This role requires close collaboration with in-house R&D teams and external fabrication partners to convert concepts into production-ready hardware.

Design & Development

• Lead mechanical design of products and subsystems from concept to manufacturing.
• Design for composites, moulds, Underwater robots, Drone Design, machined parts, and additive manufacturing.
• Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD tools
• Perform tolerance analysis, GD&T, and DFM/DFA practices.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities.

Analysis & Engineering

• Conduct engineering calculations and simulations (FEA/CFD where applicable).
• Perform structural, thermal, and load analysis for components and assemblies.
• Optimize designs for weight, strength, manufacturability, and cost.

Vendor & Fabrication Coordination

• Liaise with external vendors for moulds, composites, machining, and fabrication.
• Review vendor drawings, manufacturing feasibility, and quality.
• Support sourcing, material selection, and production planning.
• Ensure timelines and technical compliance during fabrication.

Documentation

• Prepare detailed engineering documentation including:
• Manufacturing drawings
• BOMs
• Design reports
• Test reports
• SOPs and assembly manuals
• Maintain version control and design records.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with electrical, electronics, and software teams.
• Support integration of mechanical systems with robotics platforms.
• Assist in field trials, installation, and troubleshooting.

• Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 610+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong experience in:
• Mould design (FRP/CFRP/composite moulds)
• Composite structures and fabrication
• Additive manufacturing
• Precision machining & fabrication
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo / CATIA or similar).
• Experience in FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, etc.).
• Strong understanding of materials: metals, composites, plastics.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and vendor management.
• Experience in robotics, marine, automotive, or aerospace preferred.
