Summary: This is an individual contributor role responsible for driving commercial assessments for assets of interest, maintaining active list of potential targets for Business Development and portfolio opportunities by consolidating data and insights from multiple sources, and building newer capabilities for efficiency gains. The right candidate should have deep expertise on pharmaceutical forecasting and commercial analytics, hands-on expertise to build excel-based forecasting models from scratch and exposure to SQL/ VBA/Python/ and other coding/ reporting platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Pharmaceutical forecasting SME will be expected to utilize advanced forecasting techniques, statistical models, and simulation methodologies to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and optimize business performance across BMS.
    Enhance & transform existing tools/ frameworks/ forecasts/ analysis through advanced excel/ VBA and coding skills (Python/ SQL)
    Broader understanding of disease area landscape/ helps in validating our company strategy for portfolio choices
    Demonstrate strong PoV on asset/ companies of interest
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze relevant data, market trends and historical performance
    Prepare and present forecast reports, dashboards and presentations to communicate findings, insights and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization to align forecasts with business goals and strategies
    Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging methodologies and best practice forecasting and simulation in the biopharma industry
    Provide training, guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and team members as required
    Provide significant input into and communicate diplomatically regarding performance reviews, promotions and compensation actions for team members
    Strive to create standards for dataset usage through central repositories, cross team collaborations

Experience

  • We welcome a bachelor’s or master’s (MBA preferred; quantitative area)
    10+ years pharmaceutical commercial analytics or forecasting  experience
    Experience operating successfully in a complex organizational environment
    Experience interacting with senior management, understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/ analytical information requirements
    Hands-on expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting and commercial analytics, modeling platforms, Advanced Excel & VBA , data manipulation software and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau,, Python, SQL, PowerBI, etc.)
    Awareness of Pharma datasets (Evaluate Pharma, DRG, Biodmedtracker, IQVIA, Pharmaprojects, Alpha sense) will be a plus

    Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and manage a heavy workload
    Strong creative problem-solving skills and business acumen, with the ability to identify key findings from disparate data sources to provide recommendations
    Strong analytical skills with knowledge of qualitative design, data analysis and applied statistics
    Ability to work in matrix organization
