Those in capital programmes excellence at PwC will specialise in providing consulting services focused on optimising capital programmes and projects. You will work closely with clients to analyse project needs, develop strategies for efficient project delivery, and offer guidance and support to help clients enhance project management practices, mitigate risks, and achieve successful outcomes.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead teams in delivering consulting, design, and technology solutions for large-scale capital projects. Your role will involve building trusted client relationships, driving innovation in project delivery, and mentoring team members to ensure high-quality outcomes. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership and Team Management 

  • Build and lead Capital Projects and Infrastructure (CP&I) team, driving business development, fulfilling matrix and KPI requirements, to deliver high-impact solutions for capital projects and infrastructure initiatives. 

  • Encourage diverse perspectives, foster collaboration, and create an inclusive environment where individuals and technology thrive together. 

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, enabling them to grow their technical expertise and leadership skills. 

  • Actively manage project economics, timelines, and deliverables, while maintaining flexibility for unanticipated challenges. 

Client Engagement and Relationship Building 

  • Build trusted relationships with senior-level stakeholders by understanding their business needs and challenges. 

  • Proactively identify and address client needs, leveraging PwC's range of services to deliver tailored solutions. 

  • Develop and communicate value propositions, present clear and concise deliverables, and create consensus among stakeholders. 

  • Drive business development efforts by contributing to proposals, RFPs, and thought leadership initiatives. 

Strategy and Execution 

  • Lead the development and implementation of sustainability strategies within large-scale projects, aligning with ESG principles and industry best practices. 

  • Define performance metrics, develop implementation roadmaps, and create business cases to deliver measurable outcomes. 

  • Provide hands-on expertise in risk management, scheduling, and cost control for large-scale construction programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. 

  • Manage and deliver projects in areas such as: 

  • Utility transmission (gas and electric) infrastructure 

  • Renewable energy and power generation assets 

  • Grid modernization programs 

  • Data center construction and engineering 

  • Large-scale construction programs 

Technology and Process Optimization 

  • Leverage advanced project management tools (e.g., Primavera Unifier, Cora) to enhance project efficiency and visibility. 

  • Implement cross-functional business process improvements and associated technology solutions to address client challenges. 

  • Utilize advanced data analytics tools and methodologies (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) to support decision-making and develop predictive risk models. 

  • Ensure seamless integration of digital tools and solutions into existing client workflows to enhance overall performance. 

Risk and Compliance Management 

  • Develop strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Ensure compliance with ESG frameworks, regulatory requirements, and PwC quality standards. 

 

Education 

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related field. 

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Construction Management, or Project Engineering & Management. 

 

Experience 

  • Minimum 7 years of extensive hands-on experience as a Project Manager in large capital project, in managing capital projects, sustainability initiatives, or infrastructure programs, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead Capital Projects and Infrastructure (CP&I) initiatives in consulting environment   

 

Certifications 

  • Preferred Certifications: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) 

  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or IGBC Accredited Professional 

  • Primavera P6 Professional Certification 

  • Advanced certifications in Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics tools 

 

Experience 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in managing capital projects, sustainability initiatives, or infrastructure programs, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. 

  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams and managing client engagements. 

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills 

  • Intimate knowledge of capital project lifecycles, including planning, execution, and monitoring. 

  • Expertise in managing large-scale projects in industries such as engineering, utilities, or construction. 

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that integrate sustainability, risk management, and technology solutions. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data visualization and predictive modeling. 

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, define workflows, and meet aggressive timelines. 

Travel Requirements 

Up to 20%, depending on client needs.
