ROLE PROFILE:
Reporting to the Global Indirect Tax leader, you will lead the indirect tax compliance and reporting activities delivered through the Indirect Tax CoE, with responsibility for ensuring timely and accurate indirect tax fillings, across all jurisdictions in which LSEG operates.
ROLE SUMMARY:
In this position, you will oversee indirect tax compliance through the Indirect Tax CoE, with a focus on maintaining a robust control environment, driving process improvements, and ensuring the reporting function operates effectively and efficiently.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Oversee the Indirect Tax CoE teams based in India and Sri Lanka, ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency and a strong focus on execution and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the delivery of all indirect compliance obligations across relevant jurisdictions in line with statutory deadlines in collaboration with outsource provider.
- Identify, manage and monitor all indirect tax reserves for the Group ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and accurate reporting.
- Oversee the completion of indirect tax accounting activities upon which reporting depends, including performing or reviewing data checks to identify and resolve errors or anomalies.
- Own and maintain the Indirect Tax CoE Risk and Controls Matrix embedding robust controls and ensuring audit readiness across all reporting processes
- Support changes to tax requirements within accounting systems and ensure the reporting team is aligned with system-driven updates.
- Monitor, track and report on the delivery of Indirect Tax CoE objectives on a regular basis.
- Act as a primary point of escalation for day-to-day matters related to Indirect Tax CoE deliverables, providing timely support and resolution.
- Identify and drive efficiencies and processes improvements (including relationship with outsource provider), with a focus on leveraging technology and automation where appropriate.
- Foster the professional development and technical capabilities of personnel within the Indirect Tax CoE.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across Group Tax, and with other parts of the organisation (e.g. Controllership) to successfully deliver.
- Support operational interactions with tax authorities, ensuring accurate responses to data requests, audits and compliance queries.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- A solid background in finance or accounting with a strong understanding of indirect tax compliance and its impact on financial reporting
- Experience working in a global or multi-jurisdictional environment, ideally within a Tax CoE, or centralised reporting function.
- Proven ability to improve reporting processes through standardisation, issue resolution and continuous improvement
- Strong experience owning indirect tax reporting outcomes, with the ability to resolve open balances, ensure financial accuracy and engage confidently with finance and controllership teams
- A strong governance mindset with experience embedding and maintaining robust controls across compliance and reporting activities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach to working across tax, finance and external providers.
