Senior Manager Finance Controller

Reporting to: CFO

Role Overview

The Finance Controller is responsible for end-to-end financial accounting, statutory compliance, internal controls, and audit governance. The role ensures accuracy of financial records, audit readiness, and strong financial discipline as the business scales across B2B channels and multi-location operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Close

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing under Ind AS
• Ensure accuracy of GL, provisions, accruals, reconciliations, and balances
• Manage consolidation and inter-company accounting, where applicable

Controls, Compliance & Audit

• Design, implement, and enforce accounting controls and SOPs
• Lead statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit processes
• Ensure compliance with Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and applicable regulations

Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, ageing, and write-offs
• Ensure correct accounting of duties, freight, landed costs, and provisions
• Work closely with operations and supply chain on inventory controls

Stakeholder & Team Management

• Lead accounting, AP, and AR teams
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and bankers
• Act as finance SPOC for internal business and leadership teams

Systems & Process Excellence

• Own ERP accounting modules and finance workflows, experience in Zoho Books preferred
• Drive standardisation, automation, and process improvements
• Prepare finance packs for management and board reviews

Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory
• (CPA / CMA may be considered with strong controllership experience)
• 8-12 years of experience in financial accounting / controllership roles
• Experience in B2B retail, wholesale, distribution-led, or product-led organisations
• Strong exposure to inventory accounting, GST compliance, and multi-location operations
• Experience supporting channel-driven and enterprise sales models preferred
