As EV adoption accelerates across India, Waaree is building a focused EV battery business to serve OEMs, fleet operators, and emerging mobility platforms with reliable, safe, and cost-competitive battery solutions.
Role Overview
The Manager / Senior Manager EV Battery Sales will be responsible for end-to-end sales ownership for EV battery solutions across identified vehicle segments. The role requires a strong understanding of battery technology, customer application needs, and commercial structuring , with close coordination with engineering, product, and operations teams.
This is a solution-led sales role , not a distributor or channel-only position, requiring the ability to translate technical battery specifications into clear customer value.
Key Responsibilities
EV Battery Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales of EV battery packs and battery systems to OEMs, fleet operators, and integrators
- Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to order closure
- Build and manage a strong pipeline across targeted EV segments (2W/3W/Bus/LCV/Truck as applicable)
- Engage early with customers during vehicle or platform development stages
Technical & Commercial Engagement
- Act as the primary interface with customer engineering, sourcing, and commercial teams
- Understand application requirements including energy, power, range, duty cycle, and thermal needs
- Support discussions on cell chemistry, pack configuration, BMS features, safety, and lifecycle
- Translate technical requirements into commercially viable battery solutions
Pricing, Contracting & Negotiation
- Lead commercial discussions covering pricing, volume commitments, delivery schedules, warranties, and performance guarantees
- Work with internal teams to develop accurate cost-based pricing and margin visibility
- Support contract structuring including supply agreements and long-term partnerships
Market & Competitor Intelligence
- Track EV market trends, customer roadmaps, and competitive offerings
- Monitor pricing, technology shifts, and sourcing strategies of competitors
- Provide structured feedback to product and leadership teams
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with product, engineering, sourcing, quality, and operations teams
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to production and supply chain teams post-order
- Support customers during initial SOP and ramp-up phases
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical preferred)
- 612 years of experience in EV, battery, EV automotive components industries
- Prior experience selling batteries, power electronics, or critical EV subsystems preferred
- Exposure to OEM sales processes and long-term supply contracts
Required Technical Understanding
- Lithium-ion battery technologies (LFP / NMC), performance and lifecycle
- Battery pack architecture, BMS basics, and safety considerations
- Vehicle application requirements and validation expectations
- Warranty, degradation, and field performance concepts
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong techno-commercial selling ability
- Experience working with OEM engineering and sourcing teams
- Structured negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to work in fast-evolving and competitive markets
- High ownership mindset with focus on long-term customer relationships
