About Team:

Marketplace Engineering team is at the forefront of building core platforms and services to enable Walmart to deliver vast selection at competitive prices and with best in class post-order experience by enabling third-party sellers to list, sell and manage their products to our customers on walmart.com. We do this by managing the entire seller lifecycle, monitoring customer experience, and delivering high-value insights to our sellers to help them plan their assortment, price, inventory. The team also actively collaborates with partner platform teams to ensure we continue to deliver the best experience to our sellers and our customers. This role will be focused on the Marketplace.

What you'll do:

• Lead a team of Engineers to successfully build and deploy key components in platform

• Focus on goal completion and support teams to overcome the challenges in implementation.

• Work with senior leadership to chart out the future roadmap of the products.

• Improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes.

• Hire, Develop, and Retain a strong team of software engineers.

• Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering, and management teams across different geographic locations.

• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.

• You will come up with quality, best practices, and other Non-functional standards, and guide the teams to adhere to the standards.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field.

• 10 years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial.

• 3+ years of experience as manager or lead with a team of 10+ engineers.

• A good understanding of CS Fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Problem Solving.

• Hands-on experience with Java and experience working in cloud-based solutions is desirable.

• Should be hands-on writing/reviewing design and code

• Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.

• CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.

• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for the development and design of at least one cloud-based project - Experience in building microservices, data pipelines, and extensible platforms is desirable.

• Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.

• Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.

• Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.

• Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns, and configuration tools for faster development.

• Experience of building end-to-end products with various technologies like Java, Spring, REST API, Springboot, Kafka, SQL, Javascript and having knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, CosmosDB, etc. are a plus.
