Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Professional with strong expertise in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to support and lead legal functions for a media-focused organization. The role requires deep understanding of media laws, content licensing, copyright management, and regulatory compliance within the media and entertainment ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal and IPR matters related to media content, broadcasting, publishing, and digital platforms
• Handle copyright, trademark, licensing, assignments, and infringement matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including:
• Content acquisition & licensing agreements
• Talent, artist, influencer, and production agreements
• Distribution, syndication, and platform agreements
• NDAs, MOUs, and vendor contracts
• Advise internal stakeholders on IP protection strategies and risk mitigation
• Manage IP portfolio , registrations, renewals, and oppositions
• Handle disputes, notices, and litigation related to IPR and media laws (with external counsels)
• Ensure compliance with media laws, IT Act, Copyright Act, Trademarks Act , and other applicable regulations
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, legal advisors, and enforcement agencies
• Support business teams in deal structuring from a legal and commercial perspective
• Keep abreast of legal developments in media, digital content, and IP laws

• Key Requirements

• LL.B / LL.M from a recognized university
• 1015 years of post-qualification experience , preferably from media, entertainment, broadcasting, OTT, or digital content companies
• Strong hands-on experience in IPR (Copyright & Trademarks mandatory)
• Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiations, and licensing
• Exposure to litigation management and regulatory advisory
• Ability to work independently and lead legal matters end-to-end
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
