Senior Legal Manager

Were Hiring: Senior Legal Counsel / Legal Lead for one of the leading NBFC Firm | Location: Chennai

Were looking for an experienced legal professional to support our business in Tamil Nadu and across India, providing strategic legal advisory, compliance oversight, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise business teams on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and contractual matters.
• Ensure compliance with Companies Act, SEBI, FEMA, GST, labour laws, and other applicable regulations.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes and recommend business actions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor contracts, SLAs, NDAs, MOUs, leases, licensing, and outsourcing agreements.
• Support Board and corporate governance processes in coordination with Company Secretarial teams.
• Manage litigation, arbitration, and external counsel.
• Partner with internal teams on legal risk management, audits, and compliance training.
• Engage with regulators, government authorities, and external advisors as required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in corporate law and commercial contracts
• Strong understanding of the Tamil Nadu legal and regulatory landscape
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
• Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal solutions
• Experience in BFSI, Financial Services, Manufacturing, or Technology sectors
• Exposure to litigation/arbitration management
• Tamil language proficiency preferred
• LLB mandatory; LLM or relevant certifications preferred
