About UniLiv
UniLiv is one of Indias fastest-growing student housing and co-living platforms, delivering premium, hospitality-led accommodation for students and young professionals. With 2,500+ operational beds today and a clear plan to scale to 100,000+ beds by 2030, UniLivs growth is driven by strong institutional partnerships that convert directly into contracted occupancy and revenue.
About the Role (Clear Expectation)
The General Manager B2B Academic Partnerships is a pure business-owning role.
The mandate is simple and measurable:
Bring institutional partnerships that translate into signed contracts, committed beds, and predictable revenue.
This role is suited for a senior education-sector BD leader who already has strong relationships with schools, colleges, universities, and education groups and can convert those relationships into business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue-Driving Academic Partnerships
- Close MoUs, lease partnerships, and managed housing agreements with schools, colleges, universities, and institutes.
- Convert institutional relationships into large bed commitments and long-term contracts.
- Build a strong pipeline of deal-ready academic partners across key cities.
- Ensure partnerships directly contribute to occupancy, revenue, and growth targets.
2. Business Ownership & Growth
- Own end-to-end P&L-linked outcomes from academic partnerships.
- Deliver quarterly and annual revenue targets from institutional tie-ups.
- Work with founders to identify high-demand locations and launch new properties through partnership-led growth.
- Drive renewals, expansions, and multi-year agreements.
3. Senior Stakeholder Management
- Build and leverage relationships with decision-makers such as trustees, directors, deans, registrars, and placement heads.
- Act as UniLivs commercial face to academic institutions.
- Negotiate commercials, deal structures, and long-term collaboration terms.
4. Execution & Scale
- Coordinate with Operations and CX teams to ensure delivery excellence for institutional partners.
- Ensure partner satisfaction translates into renewals and referrals.
- Track all partnerships through clear dashboards and performance metrics.
Who Should Apply (Strict Criteria)
- 12+ years of experience in:
- B2B academic partnerships
- Higher education institutional sales
- Education-focused real estate or hospitality tie-ups
- Proven record of closing large institutional deals (not just relationship management).
- Strong, active network across schools, colleges, universities, and education bodies.
- Ability to walk in with relationships and convert them into signed contracts.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.
What Success Looks Like
- Signed academic partnerships within the first 90120 days.
- Measurable bed commitments and occupancy growth.
- Long-term contracts contributing to UniLivs expansion roadmap.
What We Offer
- Senior leadership role with clear revenue ownership.
- Direct access to founders and strategic decision-making.
- Competitive fixed compensation + strong performance-linked incentives.
- Opportunity to shape Indias next large-scale student housing ecosystem.
