We are looking for a highly skilled Senior / Lead Java Developer to design and build mission-critical backend systems with strong ownership and technical leadership capabilities.

Role Overview

As a Senior / Lead Java Developer, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and developing high-performance backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product, DevOps, data, and frontend teams to deliver scalable financial applications while ensuring high security and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
• Lead end-to-end development of high-volume transaction systems
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure best coding practices
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and low latency
• Implement secure coding practices aligned with FinTech compliance standards
• Design RESTful APIs and integrate third-party payment gateways and banking systems
• Work with distributed systems, caching, and messaging frameworks
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Ensure system reliability, monitoring, and incident management

Technical Skills Required

Core

• Strong experience in Java (8/11/17)
• Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security
• Hands-on experience with Microservices architecture
• Strong understanding of REST APIs & API security
• Experience with Hibernate / JPA

Database & Messaging

• Experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of Redis / Caching mechanisms
• Hands-on experience with Kafka / RabbitMQ

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Docker & Kubernetes knowledge preferred

Good to Have

• Experience in payments, lending, trading, or banking systems
• Exposure to event-driven architecture
• Knowledge of financial compliance (PCI-DSS, ISO, etc.)
• Experience handling high TPS (transactions per second) systems

Leadership Expectations (For Lead Level)

• Provide technical direction to 48 member engineering team
• Drive sprint planning and technical estimations
• Own system design documentation
• Improve engineering standards and best practices
• Work closely with Product & Business stakeholders

Qualifications

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or related field
• 610 years of backend development experience
• Prior experience in FinTech / Banking / Payments domain preferred
