Role Overview

A law firm is seeking an Associate Partner to strengthen its Banking & Finance practice in Delhi. The role is suited for a senior transactional lawyer with the ability to independently lead complex financing matters, manage client relationships, and contribute to practice growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including: Project finance, Structured and acquisition finance, Asset and infrastructure finance, Refinancing and debt restructuring
• Independently draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated financing and security documentation
• Advise clients on transaction structuring, regulatory considerations, and risk mitigation
• Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, lenders, and counterparties
• Supervise, mentor, and review work of associates and senior associates
• Coordinate transaction timelines, negotiations, and closings
• Support business development initiatives, including client pitches, proposal preparation, and relationship building
• Work closely with partners to expand the Banking & Finance practice in the Delhi office

Requirements

• Typically 1012 years of post-qualification experience in Banking & Finance at a law firm
• Proven experience handling transactions independently end-to-end
• Strong command over financing documentation and security creation
• Sound understanding of Indian banking, finance, and regulatory frameworks
• Established client-handling and negotiation capabilities
• Prior experience mentoring junior team members
