5+ years of overall IT experience with strong handson expertise in Kubernetes and SAP BTP Kyma Runtime

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kyma & Kubernetes Engineer with deep experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloudnative applications on SAP BTP Kyma Runtime. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, microservices, containerization, and cloudnative integrations, and will collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloudnative applications on SAP BTP Kyma Runtime
• Handson experience with Kubernetes clusters (Kyma Runtime / EKS / AKS / GKE)
• Configure and manage Kyma components, including:
• API Gateway
• Eventing
• Service Mesh (Istio)
• Service Catalog
• Develop and maintain Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and YAML configurations
• Implement microservicesbased architectures using Docker and Kubernetes
• Manage application lifecycle, including deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Integrate Kymabased applications with SAP and nonSAP systems using REST APIs, events, and messaging
• Work closely with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, SAP CI/CD)
• Implement Kubernetes security best practices, including:
• RBAC
• Secrets management
• Network policies
• Monitor and optimize application performance using Prometheus, Grafana, and SAP Cloud ALM
• Provide production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to define cloudnative and SAP BTP strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of handson experience in Kubernetes and containerbased application development
• Strong practical experience with SAP BTP Kyma Runtime
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, and storage
• Handson experience with Docker, container registries, and image optimization
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and eventdriven architectures
• Knowledge of Istio / Service Mesh concepts
• Experience in CI/CD automation and DevOps practices
• Good understanding of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problemsolving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
