Senior Kafka Engineer

About Position:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Kafka Engineer with strong expertise in Confluent Kafka, DevOps, and Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing Kafka on Kubernetes, performing Kafka operations, building CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. This role requires a seasoned engineer with at least 8+ years of overall DevOps experience and deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native technologies.

What You'll Do:

• Design, deploy, and manage Confluent Kafka clusters in Kubernetes and Azure environments.
• Oversee Kafka operations including topic management, access control, partitioning strategy, schema management, and cluster monitoring.
• Manage Kafka deployments on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement Kafka upgrades, scaling, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated deployments and configuration management.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with DevOps, development, and architecture teams to support eventdriven architecture initiatives.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Ensure best practices in security, monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
• Document architecture, configurations, operational runbooks, and SOPs.
• Expertise in Confluent Kafka deployments, configuration, scaling, and operations.
• Strong experience with Kafka on Kubernetes and Confluent Operator or Helm charts.
