Senior Java Software Engineer

Olea is looking for a Senior Javaa Engineer with aspirations of having business impact by delivering across the software development lifecycle from understanding requirements to delivering results in the production environment. Candidate will experience both front-end and back-end development as well as operate in a team following agile methodologies.

What you will be doing:

• Understanding business requirements and delivering quality technology solutions to meet business needs.
• Be proactive in taking responsibility and ownership across the full SDLC from requirements gathering to, to development, testing and release. Ultimately be responsibility for the delivery to production that address the business requirements.
• When problems happen in both business and technology, proactively offer innovative solutions and take responsibility for delivering them.
• Guide junior engineers to deliver.
• Support and improve the Agile/DevOps practices within the organisation.

What you will need to be successful:

• Strong problem-solving skills, data structures and algorithms.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices-based applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Java 17 or higher.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
• Work extensively with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA).
• Implement persistence logic using Hibernate and JPA.
• Strong experience with RDBMS databases such as: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle..etc
• Working experience with AWS S3.
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries.
• Experience with Version Control Systems (Git) and with build tools Maven/Gradle.
• Implement best coding practices and design patterns.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Candidates with domain knowledge in Lending, Financial Services, Payments, and Trade Finance will have an added advantage.

Qualifications (training, licences, memberships and certifications):

Bachelors in Computer science or similar degree
