Role Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for aSenior HR / People Managerwho can combinepeople judgment, organisational maturity, and strong communicationwith hands-on ownership of HR operations.


This role goes beyond administration and requires comfort withscreening, restructuring, difficult conversations, and leadership support.


Key responsibilities include:

People & Capability

  • Lead first-level screening and evaluation of candidates across functions (construction, design, commercial, admin)
  • Conduct structured HR screening calls and support leadership in hiring decisions
  • Identify role mismatches early and support probation reviews and corrections
  • Act as a thought partner to leadership on people capability and team structure


HR Operations & Admin

  • Oversee payroll, attendance, compliance, HR documentation, and contracts
  • Either manage or absorb the existing HR/admin function
  • Ensure strong HR hygiene and process discipline across the organisation


Leadership Support & Change Management

  • Support leadership during organisational changes, restructuring, and exits
  • Handle terminations and sensitive conversations firmly, respectfully, and professionally
  • Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and consistency in people decisions
  • Act as a professional buffer between leadership and teams when required


Culture & Professionalism

  • Help build a performance-oriented, low-drama work environment
  • Set boundaries around behaviour, communication, and professionalism
  • Support managers (especially new leaders) in handling people issues effectively


Qualifications and Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years of HR experience, preferably inreal estate, construction, EPC, or infrastructure
  • Strong experience handlingmid-to-senior level roles, not just junior hiring
  • Excellent spoken and writtenEnglish communication(critical for this role)
  • Mature, calm, and confident personality with the ability to command respect
  • Comfortable withauthority, ambiguity, and change
  • High discretion, emotional intelligence, and professional boundaries
  • Mumbai-based, with familiarity with local talent markets
