We are seeking an accomplished Senior HR Manager to build the entire Human Resources function from scratch for a UK-headquartered organisation establishing its India entity through the BOT model. This is a greenfield initiative you will not inherit processes or teams, you will create them.
This is a founding leadership role for someone who has previously set up HR operations for GCCs, captive centres, or offshore entities and thrives at the intersection of strategic vision and hands-on execution.
What You'll DoBuild the HR Function from Zero:Lead entity setup support including labour law compliance, PF/ESI/PT registrations, and statutory requirements. Design the complete HR operating model, organisational structure, and people strategy. Draft and implement the full HR policy framework employee handbook, code of conduct, anti-harassment policy, grievance redressal, hybrid work policies, and data protection guidelines. Select and configure HRIS/HRMS platforms for the entire employee lifecycle.
Establish an HR Centre of Excellence (CoE):Build dedicated CoE pillars across Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards & Compensation, Employee Engagement, and HR Analytics. Design competency frameworks, job families, career ladders, and skill matrices. Implement a robust Performance Management System with OKRs/KPIs, continuous feedback, and calibration cycles. Create a Total Rewards philosophy benchmarked against the Hyderabad GCC market.
Scale Talent Acquisition:Own the end-to-end recruitment strategy employer branding, sourcing, structured interviews, offer management, and onboarding. Build a recruitment engine capable of scaling from 0 to 100+ in the first 1218 months. Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all hiring and workplace practices.
Shape Culture & Engagement:Define and embed organisational culture from day one. Design engagement programmes town halls, pulse surveys, skip-level meetings, wellness initiatives. Implement eNPS tracking and build retention strategies around career growth, meaningful work, and competitive rewards.
Ensure Compliance & Governance:Full compliance with Indian labour laws Shops & Establishments Act, POSH Act, Maternity Benefit Act, and state-specific regulations. Establish the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), HR audit frameworks, and RACI matrices for all HR processes.
Partner with UK Leadership:Engage with UK stakeholders daily/weekly on people strategy, headcount approvals, and cultural integration. Deliver HR dashboards, MIS reports, and strategic updates. Partner with the Delivery Lead to align HR initiatives with delivery timelines and team scaling plans.
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5+ years as Senior HR Manager or HR Head for a GCC, captive centre, or BOT entity
- Proven track record of setting up HR from scratch for a greenfield entity from registration to full operational maturity
- Deep expertise in building HR Centres of Excellence across TA, L&D, C&B, and HR Analytics
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, statutory compliances (PF, ESI, PT, Gratuity, POSH)
- Experience scaling organisations from 0 to 200+ employees with structured processes
- Hands-on HRIS/HRMS implementation experience
- Experience with RACI matrices, governance frameworks, and structured escalation mechanisms
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institution
MUST HAVE:Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to draft polished policies, present to C-level executives, and facilitate leadership workshops with clarity and confidence. Proven cross-cultural engagement with UK/global stakeholders across time zones.
