We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with strong expertise in the design, analysis, and implementation of dewatering systems for projects of varying scalefrom small infrastructure works and temporary excavations to large-scale deep foundation and port developments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical capabilities, practical field experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination to ensure the safe and efficient control of groundwater conditions across complex geotechnical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, assessment, and optimization of dewatering systems for shallow and deep excavations, tunnels, shafts, marine works, and large-scale infrastructure.
Develop dewatering strategies including wellpoint systems, deep wells, cutoff walls, recharge systems, and combined groundwater control solutions.
Conduct groundwater seepage analysis, drawdown predictions, and soilwater interaction assessments using analytical or numerical methods.
Review and interpret hydrogeological and geotechnical investigation data, including pump tests, permeability tests, and groundwater monitoring results.
Prepare/review dewatering design reports, method statements, tender documents, and technical specifications.
Provide technical input during construction, including troubleshooting, performance verification, and evaluation of monitoring data.
Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, marine, and construction teams to integrate dewatering solutions into overall project design.
Mentor junior engineers and support internal capability-building in groundwater control and hydrogeology.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and local regulatory frameworks related to groundwater management.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with a focus on dewatering system design and groundwater control.
Strong understanding of hydrogeology, soil permeability assessment, seepage behavior, and groundwaterstructure interaction.
Proven experience designing dewatering systems for temporary excavations, deep foundations, and large-scale infrastructure or marine projects.
Proficiency in relevant analysis tools (e.g., SEEP/W, MODFLOW, PLAXIS, or other groundwater modelling platforms).
Strong capability in interpreting pumping test data, groundwater monitoring results, and geotechnical/hydrogeological investigation findings.
Familiarity with construction methods for wellpoints, deep wells, recharge systems, and cutoff barriers.
Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership, coordination, and mentoring abilities.
Experience with data processing or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is an advantage.
