Senior Full-Stack Laravel Developer (Contractual, Remote, EST Timezone)

Were seeking an experienced Full-Stack Laravel Developer to join our fully remote engineering team. You will build secure, scalable, and high-performance applications with a strong focus on clean architecture, optimization, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Laravel-based applications that meet high performance and security standards.
• Collaborate closely with designers, PMs, and developers to deliver efficient, high-quality solutions.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines , Git workflows , and automated testing strategies.
• Monitor and improve system performance using APM tools (New Relic, AWS Performance Insights, Laravel Telescope).
• Identify and resolve slow query bottlenecks , optimize database performance, and improve application scalability.
• Manage server deployments and environments using Laravel Forge , AWS , or similar platforms.
• Conduct detailed code reviews , enforcing standards for readability, performance, and security.
• Integrate and maintain third-party APIs , microservices , and internal tools.
• Proactively find and resolve architecture, performance, and security issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional Laravel experience with a strong PHP background.
• Expert-level understanding of MVC architecture and Laravel design patterns.
• Proven success working in a fully remote environment with strong communication discipline.
• Availability during EST working hours.
• Prior experience building or maintaining a CRM platform or large-scale enterprise application.
• Strong knowledge of database design , optimization , and database sharding . (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Proficiency with Redis or similar caching systems (e.g., Memcached).
• Hands-on experience with Laravel Telescope , Laravel Forge , New Relic , AWS Performance Insights , and other APM tools .
• Deep understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment best practices.
• Expertise in performance optimization , query tuning , and diagnosing slow queries .
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and its performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of web security best practices (CSRF, XSS, SQL injection prevention, authentication hardening).
• Comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) but not dependent on them.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs , microservices, and modular architecture.
• Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit , Pest ) and TDD/BDD workflows.
• Familiarity with modern frontend tech such as Vue.js or React .
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker .
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points

• Experience with WordPress/WooCommerce API integrations .
• Familiarity with the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
• Experience with Supabase .
• Experience with Laravel Octane , Livewire , or Inertia.js .
• Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) or Clean Architecture principles.
• Contributions to open-source Laravel packages or involvement in the Laravel community.
• Prior experience mentoring junior developers.
