Your team

You will be part of the IG APAC & ME Engineering team, responsible for building and enhancing modern client-facing trading applications. The team develops cloud-native applications on AWS, delivering scalable frontend and backend components that integrate seamlessly with IG’s trading systems and services.

Your role in the Team’s Success

In this role, you will design, build, and evolve cloud-native applications on AWS that power IG’s real-time client trading platforms used by clients globally. You will contribute to frontend architecture and technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and resilience under high user load and real-time data conditions. Working closely with product, platform, and co engineering teams, you will deliver secure, high-performance client experiences integrated with IG’s trading systems. You will take end-to-end ownership of features from design through production, driving engineering quality and operational excellence. Your contributions will directly influence platform reliability, performance, and the evolution of IG’s modern cloud-native architecture.
 

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native frontend applications using React.js, TypeScript, React Native, and AWS, delivering high-performance client trading experiences.

• Build and integrate secure, reliable backend services and APIs using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related cloud-native technologies.

• Contribute to frontend architecture, performance optimization, and engineering best practices to ensure responsiveness, scalability, and resilience under real-time trading workloads.

• Deploy, monitor, and operate applications on AWS using services such as S3, CloudFront, and serverless infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability in production.

• Implement automated testing, participate in CI/CD pipelines, and drive improvements in code quality, maintainability, and deployment confidence.

• Collaborate closely with product, platform, and backend teams to design, deliver, and continuously improve production-grade trading applications with full feature ownership.

What you’ll need for this role

Key Qualification Requirements:

• 8–10 years of frontend development experience with strong expertise in React.js, React Native, Next.js, Redux, and component-driven architecture

• Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, and related infrastructure.

• Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and efficiency.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend build tools such as Webpack, Babel, and Vite.

• Mandatory experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS (S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, Amplify).

• Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA), Service Workers, caching strategies, and frontend performance optimization.

• Hands-on experience with unit testing (Jest, React Testing Library), TDD practices, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, RESTful APIs, browser internals, and delivering production-grade applications at scale.

• Experience handling end-to-end feature ownership, including design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering excellence within the team.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot or similar) to improve productivity and engineering efficiency.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, collaborate effectively across teams, and contribute positively to engineering culture and decision-making.
