Senior Founding Engineer (US Freight-tech Stealth)

This is a pivotal, high-impact role for a technical leader who thrives in ambiguity, operates independently, and can rapidly drive engineering execution. The Senior Founding Engineer will own architecture, make critical decisions, and set the technical pace for the teamacting as both builder and strategic partner.

• Architect and implement scalable, secure backend systems using Node.js, Python, and React, ensuring seamless integration of AI workflows for end-to-end freight automation (from carrier selection to claims processing)

• Design, build, and maintain agentic AI pipelines with tools like n8n, Langchain/LangGraph, CrewAI, and Pydantic to automate:

1. Carrier matching, scheduling, and tracking
2. Proof of delivery (POD) processing
3. Lumper/detention approvals
4. Invoicing, compliance, and claims workflows

• Own and optimize DevOps processes: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and system monitoring (Prometheus, Datadog, etc.) for >98% uptime and rapid iteration.

• Lead the development of advanced AI features, including predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and workflow orchestration, minimizing manual oversight and driving operational efficiency.
• Collaborate on full-stack features, ensuring robust frontend-backend-AI integration and a seamless user experience for logistics operators and customers.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and deploy new solutions in ambiguous, high-velocity environmentsowning the technical roadmap and making critical build vs. buy decisions.
• Establish and enforce best practices for code quality, security, and data privacy across the engineering team.
• Mentor and upskill engineers on agentic AI, workflow automation, and modern DevOps practices.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., new LLMs, orchestration frameworks, observability tools) to keep FreightX at the forefront of logistics innovation

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years of backend/Full-stack engineering experience, with 2+ year in agentic AI (e.g., autonomous agents, workflow orchestration).
• Must have worked in a start-up and lived zero to 1 journey.
• Expertise in Node.js, Python, React, Pydantic, Langchain and DevOps tools.
• Proven ability to thrive independently in fast-paced, startup environments.
• Leadership DNA: Passionate about mentoring and building teams.
• Enthusiasm for AI-driven logistics and a figure it out at all costs mindset.
• Bachelors/master's in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
