In the Finance and Corporate Strategy team we ensure that the business’s capital strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused. Job Family Definition:

Partners with the businesses to ensure that the capital strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused to secure the greatest return on investment for the global company. Gathers financial data and performs financial analyses and reporting (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, pricing, etc.) to influence decisions within the business and to drive cross-business initiatives (e.g., mergers & acquisitions). Drives the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long-term) by analyzing trends within the businesses and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide objectives. Communicates and drives adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the organization's financial goals and policies. Has the fiduciary responsibility to represent financial results correctly both internally and externally. Ensures strong business controls.

What you’ll do:

The key responsibilities include the following:

Financial leadership for Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the Balance sheet Responsible for all statutory (US and Local GAAP), legal and tax related matters for Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the Balance sheet entities Business Partnership to all functions especially BU, BU Finance head and MD for Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the balance sheet. Provides the most complex financial analysis for a financial function or a business, typically exercising a unique understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives. Consults with business leaders to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision-making within the broadest scope. Forecasts financial results within the broadest scope. Leads and advises on the most complex business initiatives, typically leading several analysts across multiple areas within finance and across geographies/organizations. Drives process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function globally. Represents the business unit during cross-regional or cross-functional planning processes. Provides mentoring and guidance to analysts.

Overview

  • Ensure balance sheet and profit & loss statements are in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP and company accounting and finance manual. Maintain the integrity of the entity's financial data.

  • Ensure that the local legal and tax reporting for the assigned entity is in compliance with country legal & regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for quarterly Balance Sheet Review and presentation

  • Responsible for local tax filing compliance, internal and external audits and compliance

  • Manage Pre-Tax Earnings forecast, and Returns on Value Added Cost (ROVAC) adjustments

  • Develop and maintain bottoms-up financial forecast models, and other ad hoc analysis as needed, to drive decision making and improve predictability of the business

MEC/YEC

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of month-end close results, provide insightful analysis of results including P&L and balance sheet reviews and AssureNet account reconciliations, and ensure timely resolution of escalated items.

  • Assist Cluster Controller with various ad hoc projects, including regional presentations on the Local Country Review and annual Country Financial Review (CFR), etc.

  • Undertake ad hoc analyses and studies as required.

Audit

  • Ensure timely completion of financial audits

  • Ensure accuracy of audited financial statements

  • Present financial statements for Board of Directors’ approval

Operational

  • Responsible for coordination, process alignment and issue resolution in coordination with BU team, Global Financial Services (GFS) & other accounting teams for daily operational issues.

  • Support policy and process improvement and identify opportunities.

  • Drive improvement in the financial and reporting processes and the quality of information provided to the business.

  • Ensure appropriate business controls are in place and operating as intended in the legal entities.

  • Ensure adherence to HPE policies and generally accepted accounting principles and consistency in their application.

  • Develop, recommend, influence and implement solutions to business issues recorded in the legal books.

  • Establish and maintain sound business controls in line with HPE financial policies and audit guidelines-—limit exposure to risk, including the standard of business conduct, taxes and working capital.

Business Partnering

  • Focus on effective and efficient financial analysis and consulting services for the management team on both a regular and ad hoc basis; alert them to potential concerns and propose actions to ensure the BU achieves the given goal in due compliance with HPE and local policies & regulations.

  • Liaise with various tax, and BU teams to propose solutions ensuring compliant transactions

  • Establish and maintain sound business controls in line with HPE financial policies and audit guidelines-—limit exposure to risk, including the Standard of Business Conduct, taxes, and working capital.

  • Prepare reporting pack for SLT meeting

  • Work with other global functions such as treasury, legal, operations, GRE etc teams on matters relating to Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the Balance sheet
    Tax

  • Ensure Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the Balance sheet entities are in compliance with local tax regulations, filings and reporting

  • Manage Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the Balance sheet tax issues (both direct and indirect) to ensure compliance and tax effective decision making

  • Support any tax initiatives and requests from regional tax teams

Merger/Acquisition/Divestiture

  • Responsible for all matters relating to de registration/closure/liquidation/mergers and acquisitions, such as proper accounting, statutory filings, providing country-related feedback, and managing entity cash flows to ensure local regulatory/tax/legal requirements and entity working capital requirements are met.

Others

  • Manage COE team supporting Complex country with higher revenue and volume activity in the Balance sheet

  • Responsible for in country new systems implementation

  • Update and maintain a database of all statutory paperwork, checklists and templates to ensure compliance for record keeping.

What you need to bring:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; able to articulate issues and work directly with senior management

  • First-level university degree with a focus in business or economics. Professional qualification with CA/CIMA/CPA—with 12 to 15 years of Post qualification experience

  • Prior Big 4 external audit experience preferred, with 5-7 years' commercial experience in a senior finance or accounting role - preferred

  • A combination of accounting and financial systems knowledge

  • Strong technical knowledge in Local GAAP, US GAAP, Local tax laws and regulations

  • Self-motivated with great initiative, and highly independent

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues, and willing to step into ambiguous situations

  • Good business acumen, analytical and work management skills and able to work well under pressure

  • Pleasant personality, collaborates well with all levels and across organization boundaries

  • Hands-on experience in MS Office software and other productivity tools

  • Typically experienced in a variety of finance functions.
