This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Calix Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team! In this role you will be the finance business partner to the leaders of Calix’s General & Administration (G&A) teams. The position requires FP&A experience, solid accounting fundamentals, good modeling skills, experience using Oracle, administering Hyperion and related reporting tools for forecasting, analysis and reporting. This role also requires strong business acumen, strong communication skills and the ability to think fluidly during presentations and conversations. The successful candidate will also provide comprehensive finance support and report directly to the Sr. Director of FP&A based in California, USA.

Responsibilities and Duties:

G&A Financial Analysis

  • Assist in the monthly and quarterly close and forecast-related activities, including accrual analysis and journal entries.
  • Support G&A with department budget planning, headcount forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Review and approve purchase orders for the G&A functions.
  • Provide quarterly forecast guidance for the FP&A team, including benefit assumptions, by collaborating with various departments, external actuaries, and the accounting team.
  • Deliver financial budgeting, reporting, and business partner support for G&A functions.
  • Perform ROI analysis for investments in G&A functions.
  • Reconcile Trial Balance from Oracle to Hyperion.
  • Utilize Oracle Discover, BI reporting tools, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, SmartView, Power BI, and Excel to create analytics and reporting for executive reviews and forecasting activities.

Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support consolidated forecasting processes by maintaining financial forecast models, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and supporting materials.
  • Develop and/or maintain complex financial models to support short-term and long-term strategic planning.
  • Analyze company financial performance and trends to provide insights and recommendations.

Hyperion Planning & Financial Systems Support

  • Assist in the Hyperion ePBCS Oracle Cloud implementation and ensure financial actuals from Oracle are accurately loaded into Hyperion.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data related to system uploads and reporting.
  • Maintain and update Hyperion applications, including managing dimensions, application settings, data conversions, security settings, mapping files, and data extracts.
  • Modify existing Hyperion reports or create new reports using Financial Reporting Studio / Web tools.
  • Develop and maintain SmartView worksheets, business rules, and financial reporting forms.
  • Manage substitution variables for monthly close, forecasts, and annual budget planning cycles.
  • Support Hyperion upgrades and enhancements, ensuring system performance and efficiency.
  • Provide technical and business support for financial systems and recommend process improvements.
  • Conduct analysis on system issues, approve requested system changes, and perform testing of modifications.
  • Communicate all system updates and drive process enhancements for improved efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting with 8 - 10 years of relevant FP&A experience.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with expertise and experience in Hyperion Planning, SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio, Essbase, and Oracle Discovery.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, collaboration, and communication skills; must be a strong team player working across multiple functions.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively solve problems.
  • High level of integrity, results-driven mindset, and solution-oriented thinking.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to influence senior leadership with data-driven recommendations.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and further developing financial analysis skills.

  • India – (Flexible hybrid work model - work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter)
