reliability, and predictability they need.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform Engineering teams. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and scaling of data platforms supporting data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, and LLM (Large Language Model) workloads. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of data practitioners, software engineers, and AI/ML teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence and shape the future of data-driven decision-making by building scalable, high-performance data infrastructure and AI/ML enablement platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Strategy
    • Define and execute the roadmap for the Data Platform, aligning with business objectives.
    • Drive the adoption of data mesh, data governance, and AI/ML operationalization (MLOps/LLMOps).
    • Ensure scalable and reliable data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming capabilities.
    • Oversee platform architecture, focusing on data discovery, integration, observability, governance, and security.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead and mentor scrum teams of data engineers, software engineers, and platform engineers.
    • Foster a high-performance, innovation-driven culture across geographically distributed teams.
    • Collaborate with data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and business teams to understand their needs and improve user experience.
    • Build strong relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
  • Execution & Delivery
    • Drive best practices in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps/SRE to enhance reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance, governance, and security of data assets with industry regulations.
    • Develop self-service capabilities to empower data practitioners and improve platform adoption.
    • Advocate for open-source tools and cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 14+ years of experience in software/data engineering, with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
  • Expertise in building and managing large-scale data platforms with distributed computing (Spark, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Strong experience in data governance, observability, and security frameworks.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data stack tools.
  • Deep understanding of data lakehouses, batch and streaming data processing, and data cataloging solutions.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, feature stores, and AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm), and DevOps/SRE practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive alignment across engineering and business teams.
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and growing high-performing engineering teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with data mesh architecture and decentralized data platforms.
  • Prior contributions to open-source projects in the data or AI/ML domain.
  • Understanding of cost optimization strategies for data processing workloads.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) and enterprise security best practices.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a strategic, high-impact platform team that enables data-driven decision-making at scale.
  • Work on cutting-edge AI/ML and cloud data platform technologies.
  • Collaborate with top engineering and data science talent in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and career growth opportunities.
