Senior Engineer – Master Data Management (MDM) - Profisee

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineer Master Data Management (MDM) to play a critical role in designing, building, and operating enterprise master data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and downstream business processes. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role focused on delivering trusted, governed, and scalable master data across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with MDM platforms (e.g., Profisee), strong expertise in Azure cloud services and Databricks Lakehouse architecture, and a solid understanding of data governance and stewardship models. You will partner closely with data engineering, analytics, governance, and business teams to ensure master data domains (e.g., Client, Account, Advisor, Product) are accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose.

This role requires strong technical depth, disciplined engineering practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Engineering & Platform Delivery

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise Master Data Management solutions using platforms such as Profisee.
• Implement and manage master data domains, hierarchies, relationships, and survivorship rules.
• Develop scalable integration patterns between MDM, source systems, and downstream consumers (Databricks, data warehouse, BI tools).
• Ensure master data is consistently published, versioned, and consumed across the data ecosystem.

Data Quality, Governance & Stewardship

• Partner with Data Governance and business data owners to implement data quality rules, validations, and stewardship workflows.
• Enable metadata, lineage, and auditability for master data domains.
• Support regulatory, security, and compliance requirements for sensitive and critical data.
• Drive adherence to enterprise data standards and naming conventions.

Azure & Databricks Integration

• Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure-native services and Databricks Lakehouse patterns.
• Implement Delta Lakebased storage and ensure efficient master data propagation across layers.
• Collaborate on Unity Catalog, access controls, and environment segregation strategies.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical MDM solutions.
• Support Agile delivery through story refinement, technical design, and sprint execution.
• Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and production readiness activities.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on MDM concepts and best practices.

Technical Responsibilities (Hands-On)

• Configure and customize MDM platforms (e.g., Profisee) including entities, attributes, hierarchies, matching, and survivorship.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines feeding and consuming master data.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for MDM configurations and data pipelines.
• Support monitoring, error handling, and operational support for MDM workflows.
• Optimize performance and scalability of master data processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, or MDM-focused roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Master Data Management platforms (Profisee strongly preferred).
• Strong experience with Azure cloud services and modern data architectures.
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse patterns.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance principles.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured and semi-structured data.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Exposure to data governance tools, metadata management, or data catalog platforms.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, or regulatory data use cases.
