Senior Engineer

Job Description:

Qualifications:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team at Guardian Life Insurance.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, with expertise in Java 8, Spring Boot,

REST API, microservices architecture, Maven, Splunk, and other relevant technologies.

 

Responsibilities:

•             Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and create scalable and reliable systems.

•             Provide technical support and expertise in resolving complex technical issues and challenges.

•             Implement microservices-based applications using best practices and design patterns.

•             Utilize Splunk for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance.

•             Ensure code quality and maintainability through code reviews, testing, and refactoring.

•             Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness.

Requirements:

•             Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MCA.

•             Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java and related technologies with at least Java version 8.

•             Extensive experience with Spring Boot, REST API development, microservices architecture, documentation of APIs, Maven and logs analysis platforms like splunk.

•             Experience with writing unit test cases and the relevant frameworks.

•             Good understanding of GIT, docker, kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.

•             Experience with RDBMS and writing sql queries (Oracle preferred)

•             Knowledge of any public cloud - (AWS preferred)

•             Experience working in Agile methodology and tools like JIRA, confluence etc.(SAFE Agile experience will be a plus)

•             Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, SOLID principles and best practices.

•             Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering complex projects on time.

•             Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

•             Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
