| Key Purpose of the Job : |
| The NVH Engineer is responsible for conducting various testing activities for (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) NVH test center. Ensuring correctness of test process and result documentation is critical to the role. |
|
|
| Educational Qualification / Experience required : |
| - Degree in mechanical engineering |
|

| Key Responsibilities : |
| 1. Responsible for acoustic prediction, validation and testing of NVH features and dynamics for products under development |

| 1. Responsible for acoustic prediction, validation and testing of NVH features and dynamics for products under development |
| Examine and analyze drawings, specifications, documentation, etc provided by design team for preliminary study of the project |
| Set up, run and interpret results of NVH tests performed for development of new compressor packages and subsystems |
| Evaluate NVH performance vs. targets for modes, frequency response and dynamic stiffness using NVH testing software |
| Collect, analyze and interpret dynamic and structural characteristics related to performance of new product design |
| Apply engineering principles to reduce noise sources or improve noise paths that optimizes cost, performance, and time to market |
| Draw accurate conclusions and provide solutions based on analyses, simulation and experimental results |
| Communicate with design engineers regarding results and requirements to ensure effective and efficient completion of objectives and support in developing countermeasure design proposals |
| 2. Track and conduct study, testing, validation, modification for NVH reduction activities as per business requirements |
| Provide engineering support to resolve NVH issues in existing products in the market |
| Conduct pre-test review by studying and analyzing customer complaints, inputs to understand the issues |
| Make visits to customer sites / supplier facilities for understanding details / issues related to NVH in compressor performance, as appropriate |
| Independently conduct NVH testing of compressor using appropriate testing processes and procedures |
| Adhere to timelines and ensure all processes and procedures are carried out as per schedule |
| Work with superior to determine root cause and develop countermeasures to resolve issues and bottlenecks |
| Work with cross functional teams for implementation of solutions |
| Support production by developing methods to lessen or eliminate noise in assembled parts |
| 3. Maintain test lab resources and support in lab improvement activities |
| Support continuous improvement through workplace organization, process improvement and technology improvement |
| Maintain organized work environment, testing systems and facilities as per Elgi policy |
| Conduct regular calibration of instruments as per schedule to maintain instrument accuracy |
| Support function in designing and developing in-house NVH measurement instruments, as appropriate |
| Be up-to-date on new and upcoming NVH technology, implement new NVH methods and processes, as planned and necessary |
