Senior Engineer - BESS

The Opportunity

SunStripe is seeking a Senior Engineer BESS to join our engineering team in Hyderabad. The successful candidate will work directly with our Lead BESS Engineer on active engagements serving Fortune 500 utilities and IPP developers across the United States. Responsibilities span technical sizing and engineering analysis, commercial modeling, and structured client communication. This is a customer outcome role requiring both engineering depth and the judgment to translate technical work into client-ready decisions.

Requirements

Essential:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline
• 47 years of experience in BESS, utility-scale energy storage, or power systems project development
• Demonstrated experience in BESS sizing, degradation modeling, or storage performance analysis
• Working knowledge of US utility interconnection processes, NERC standards, or FERC regulatory frameworks
• Proficiency in Excel-based technical and financial modeling

Preferred:

• Direct experience working with or for a US utility, IPP developer, or energy storage consultancy
• Client-facing experience in a technical or advisory capacity
• Familiarity with Tesla Megapack, Fluence, CATL, Hithium, or comparable BESS OEM documentation
• Understanding of US capacity market structures PJM, CAISO, ERCOT, MISO
• Exposure to RFP processes for BESS or utility-scale renewable energy procurement
