Senior Engineer - AVA

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, wood, foam, and plastic materials, including their prototyping and development processes. Able to propose design alternatives at the part, assembly, and system levels to meet functional and specification requirements.
• Prepare BUCK or concept prototypes to visualize and evaluate optimal designs at the component, system, and vehicle levels.
• Develop seating buck assemblies to support internal and external jury evaluations for design and ergonomic assessments.
• Well-versed in prototype development and concept validation workflows.
• Technically proficient in discussions with suppliers for setting up Ergo lab machinery and equipment.
• Basic understanding of wood, foam, and fabrication machinery, as well as hand tools, to finalize specifications for Ergo lab setup.
• Skilled in identifying vendors and evaluating raw materials and alternative materials for buck development.
• Coordinate effectively with suppliers and capital purchase teams to facilitate PO release, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
• Experienced in building and assembling full-scale models of vehicle interiors, panels, and structural elements.

Familiar with SAE J1100 standards for vehicle dimensioning and classification

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering

• Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Strong passion for automotive design and innovative technologies.
• Effective collaboration with engineering teams to refine and validate design concepts.
• Working knowledge of Engineering BOM (E-BOM) and Teamcenter PLM systems.
