Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical control panels for industrial automation systems. The role involves preparing electrical schematics, component selection, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and coordinating with production, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Design & Engineering

• Design electrical control panels, MCC panels, PLC panels, and VFD panels for industrial automation systems.
• Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams (SLD), and panel layouts.
• Select appropriate electrical components such as PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, VFDs, power supplies, and terminals.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and protection coordination.

2. Documentation

• Develop detailed engineering documentation including:
• BOM (Bill of Materials)
• GA drawings
• Wiring diagrams
• Panel layout drawings
• Terminal plans
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical standards (IEC, IS, UL, or CE).

3. Software & Tools

• Use electrical design software such as:
• AutoCAD Electrical
• EPLAN Electric P8
• SolidWorks Electrical

4. Coordination & Project Support

• Work closely with manufacturing, procurement, and project management teams.
• Provide technical support during panel assembly, testing, and commissioning.
• Resolve design issues during manufacturing and installation stages.

5. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure panels meet safety standards and industry regulations.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control.

6. Continuous Improvement

• Implement design improvements for cost reduction and efficiency.
• Standardize panel designs and documentation processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 510 years experience in electrical design for control panel manufacturing or industrial automation.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• PLC panels
• MCC panels
• VFD panels
• Control systems
• Experience with industrial automation components.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD tools.
• Understanding of IEC / UL standards for control panels.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with PLC systems from companies like:
• Siemens
• Schneider Electric
• Rockwell Automation
• ABB
