Senior DevOps Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Dev-Ops Engineering focus specializes in creating combined software development and IT operations practices which shorten the systems delivery life cycle and provide a continuous delivery platform. area complements the efficiencies of Agile software development methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Triaging of Production issues and maintaining Operational Service

• Ownership of DevOps and process automation initiatives, assisting the team in implementing best practices and driving continuous improvement in our technology platform and associated processes

• Provide leadership and mentoring to more junior team members

• Part of 24x7 support Rota

• Ensure adherence to security best practices, maintaining the security of our environment

• Providing build and deployment automation: Jenkins, Git, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions

Technical Skills

• Expertise with AWS architecture across a wide range of services, e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, R53, ECS, MSK, IAM/Security, etc.

• Experience of Linux based OSes, ideally OEL and CentOS.

• Experience with scripting/coding, i.e. Bash Shell, Python, Go

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Experience with containerization tools, e.g. Docker, K8s.

• Expertise with IaC and Orchestration tooling, i.e. Terraform, Ansible

• Experience of CDN services such as Cloudflare

• Experience in building and maintaining scalable and highly available systems

• Experience with Jira for issue management and workflow definitions

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a strong attention to detail

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, ELK, Grafana, Splunk)

Qualifications 

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in DevOps or related roles. 

• Any other demonstrable additional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
