About Our Client Toorak Capital Partners

You will be part of a dedicated engineering team supporting Toorak Capital Partners, a leading U.S.-based integrated correspondent lending platform that funds residential, multifamily, and mixed-use real estate loans across the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, Tooraks leadership team brings deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak-funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for 9,000+ families averaging 500+ families every month.This is a rare opportunity to build mission-critical, cloud-based mortgage technology platforms that directly support one of the most respected players in the global mortgage finance industry.

Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines for large-scale financial applications. You will work closely with development, architecture, and operations teams to ensure reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across cloud environments. This is a hands-on role that combines technical leadership, automation, and strategic thinking, with opportunities to mentor engineers and influence DevOps best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of code changes
• Monitor and optimize build, test, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Develop and manage infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Automate provisioning and configuration of servers, databases, and other infrastructure components
• Ensure infrastructure is scalable, resilient, and secure

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Architect, build, and maintain Google Cloudbased solutions
• Optimize cloud resource utilization to reduce costs and enhance performance
• Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments

Disaster Recovery (DR) Systems

• Design, implement, and maintain robust disaster recovery solutions to safeguard against data loss and service interruptions

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana

Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to minimize manual intervention and reduce errors

Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Foster a positive team environment and act as a key contributor in achieving project goals

Mentorship

• Guide and mentor junior DevOps engineers, enhancing their skills and technical knowledge
• Provide technical leadership and insights to drive DevOps best practices

Strategic Planning

• Develop and execute strategies to optimize cloud infrastructure performance and cost
• Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions

Self-Driven Excellence

• Demonstrate a high level of initiative, ownership, and drive
• Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve DevOps processes and practices

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 6 years of experience managing large-scale applications in the cloud
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience working specifically with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong proficiency in cloud architecture and services, particularly Google Cloud
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Groovy)
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash

Monitoring & Observability

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Helm, Chef, and Puppet
• Knowledge of database management and optimization
• Experience with network configuration and management
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
