We’re looking for a Lead Software Developer to help build automation systems that support Arctic Wolf’s Security Operations. You’ll contribute to services and tools that ingest and process security telemetry, enrich alerts, automate workflows, and improve detection and response efficiency.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid software foundation who is curious about cybersecurity and passionate about automation. You’ll work with experienced engineers and security teams on projects that have real impact—eliminating manual toil, scaling detection pipelines, and enabling faster, smarter investigations.
Arctic Wolf Labs is the research-focused division at Arctic Wolf focused on advancing innovation in the field of security operations. The mission of Arctic Wolf Labs is to develop cutting-edge technology and tools that are designed to enhance the company’s core mission to end cyber risk, while also bringing comprehensive security intelligence to Arctic Wolf’s customer base and the security community-at-large. The Arctic Wolf Labs Engineering team partners with top threat & security researchers, data scientists, detection engineers, security operations professionals, and other engineering organizations to deliver on high-impact solutions to challenging problems.
About the Role:
Build and maintain backend services and automation workflows in Python, Go, JavaScript and others for alert triage, enrichment, and ticket management
Develop integrations with external APIs (EDR, IAM, cloud, SaaS tools) and support scalable data flows
Contribute to the development of enrichment pipelines and automation playbooks (e.g., IOC lookups, user/device context, tagging)
Participate in code reviews, write tests, and collaborate with our Quality Engineering team to ship production-ready code
Work with detection, incident response, and operations teams to understand their workflows and automate common use cases
Help develop and maintain tools that support detection tuning and response automation
About you:
5+ years of experience in software development, preferably with backend or automation-focused work
Proficient in Python, Go, JavaScript or a similar language used in backend development and automation
Experience working with REST APIs, JSON data, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Familiarity with containerized applications and CI/CD workflows
Interest in cybersecurity and building tools that support detection, investigation, or response workflows
