We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to:

• Lead and mentor data analysts and scientists within Group Internal Audit (GIA) to deliver high quality data analytics and automation solutions to support audit processes and risk assessments.
• Strategically drive implementation of analytical products, proactively monitor the usage and take initiative to maximize value for end-users.
• Clearly communicate complex insights derived from analytics to senior stakeholders in a manner that is both engaging and impactful.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in analytical innovations and leverage these to enhance process efficiencies.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across GIA and across the GIA Innovation team.

Your team

You will be working in Group Internal Audit (GIA) Team in India. GIA is an independent function that supports UBS in achieving its strategic, operational, financial and compliance objectives. We do this by assessing key processes, governance, risk management, and the control environment within all Business Divisions and Group Functions globally. We are independent in our work and report directly to the Chairman of the Board and the Audit Committee.

In your role, you will own and support the development of analytics tools which deliver important capabilities to our audit function.

Your expertise

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Science, AI, Statistics, Business Administration, Computer Science) preferably from a top-tier university.
• 7+ years of experience driving data-driven initiatives, particularly in the realms of analytics and AI, within the financial services or audit industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing advanced analytics and/or AI solutions that significantly enhance audit processes and risk assessments.
• Proficient in using tools such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, and Power BI to build and manage data analytics and AI frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to scale solutions and apply appropriate analytical techniques to complex challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, able to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholder groups effectively.
• Proven leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and guiding teams to achieve strategic goals and maximize value.
• Deep understanding of audit contexts, including risk assessments and audit execution processes, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
• Experience in managing projects within an Agile framework, with a proactive, autonomous approach to driving innovations and improvements.
