We are hiring for Senior Data Engineer Snowflake Transformations & dbt .

Location: Chennai (Work From Office) with Experience: 712 Years .

About the Role:- We are building a next-generation enterprise data platform on Snowflake and are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to take full ownership of the transformation layer powered by dbt. This is a core hands-on engineering role focused on designing and operating scalable transformation pipelines, defining canonical data models, and delivering high-trust analytics datasets that power business-critical reporting for US stakeholders. You will shape the semantic and transformation backbone of a multi-domain enterprise data platform.

Key Responsibilities :-

Transformation Engineering (dbt-Centric): Design and productionize scalable dbt pipelines, reusable macros, incremental models, and SCD Type 1 & 2 implementations with auditability.

Define modeling standards and own lifecycle from dev to deployment.

Enterprise Data Modeling & Semantic Layer: Build star schemas, fact and dimension models aligned with business KPIs. Create analytics-ready datasets and establish canonical metric definitions.

Data Quality & Observability: Implement dbt testing frameworks, perform reconciliations with source systems, define data SLAs, and resolve production data issues impacting reporting.

Snowflake Performance & Cost Optimization: Optimize SQL transformations, design warehouse sizing strategies, leverage clustering and pruning, and ensure compute cost efficiency.

Engineering Excellence & Collaboration: Follow Git-based CI/CD workflows, maintain lineage and documentation, collaborate with BI and US stakeholders, and mentor mid-level engineers.

Must-Have Skills Expert-level SQL with deep Snowflake optimization experience.

Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) in production.

Proven expertise in dimensional modeling (Star Schema,

Fact & Dimension design). Experience building large-scale transformation pipelines in enterprise data platforms.

Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, and governance principles. Excellent communication skills for global stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred / High-Impact Experience:- Experience with Snowflake Streams & Tasks, Airflow or other orchestration frameworks, Python for transformation utilities or validations, handling financial or KPI-critical datasets, and working on multi-domain enterprise data platforms.

Certifications (Good to Have)

Dbt Analytics Engineering Certification; Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification.
