Senior Data Engineer

BQE Software is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Engineer . This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in SQL Serverbased data engineering, large-scale data migration, and performance optimization. The role will be critical in designing, executing, and overseeing complex data migration and integration initiatives, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and minimal disruption to client environments.

Our projects entail implementing our pre-approved UI, constructing APIs, and connecting the two. This includes all associated areas such as database, front-end and backend architecture design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute end-to-end data migration strategies, ensuring high availability, minimal downtime, and data consistency.
• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and migration-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Configure and manage migration tracking and reporting mechanisms to ensure timely execution of project milestones.
• Develop and optimize SQL-based solutions for data migration, integration, upgrades, and client-specific requirements.
• Oversee data ingestion, reconciliation, and validation processes to ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
• Implement robust data validation, backup, recovery, and security best practices.
• Monitor migration progress and produce detailed technical documentation and status reports for internal teams and clients.
• Participate in and facilitate client discussions to address technical challenges, scope changes, and solution alignment.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve migration efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Provide post-migration support, including performance tuning, optimization, and production stabilization.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing and best-practice initiatives within the team.

Required Skills

• Advanced expertise in T-SQL , including complex query design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2016, and later versions)
• Proven expertise in relational database architecture , large-scale database development, and optimization
• Proficiency in C# and .NET technologies , with experience integrating databases into enterprise applications
• Experience with database version control , deployment automation, and release management practices
• Solid understanding of database security , data integrity, backup, and recovery strategies
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Required Experience & Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands -on experience in SQL Servercentric data engineering or database development roles.
• Experience in handling complex data migration, integration, or platform transition projects.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, particularly in database or data migration contexts.
• Exposure to automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices for database deployments.
• Experience with large enterprise or SaaS product environments.
• Relevant certifications in database management, cloud platforms, or data engineering.
