Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics-ready datasets supporting freight, logistics, and supply chain operations. The role focuses on ELT architecture , dbt-driven transformations , and cloud data warehousing , enabling data-driven decision-making across operations, finance, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT data pipelines for logistics and supply chain data
• Build and manage dbt models (staging, intermediate, and marts) for analytics and reporting
• Implement data quality checks, testing, and documentation using dbt
• Develop and optimize SQL and Python transformations for large, complex datasets
• Work with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) to ensure performance and cost efficiency
• Orchestrate and monitor workflows using Apache Airflow
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and operations teams to define business metrics and KPIs
• Ensure best practices in version control, CI/CD, and code reviews
• Troubleshoot data issues and ensure reliability, accuracy, and timeliness of data delivery

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 48 years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool)
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience with cloud data warehouses , preferably Snowflake
• Working knowledge of Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools
• Understanding of ELT architectures and analytics engineering best practices
• Experience working with high-volume data in logistics, supply chain, or freight domains

Good to Have

• Exposure to real-time or streaming data pipelines
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
• Domain knowledge of freight operations, shipment tracking, ETA, cost optimization , or inventory analytics
