What Youll Do

• Design, implement, and improve processes for building scalable and automated data infrastructure.
• Tune and optimise complex data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Build tools and scripts to develop, monitor, and troubleshoot ETL workflows.
• Perform scalability, latency, and availability tests on large-scale systems.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure quality of data engineering deliverables.
• Investigate, analyse, and resolve data defects, while documenting findings and solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, database architects, and analysts, to support business and technical initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and processes.
• Ensure all data solutions follow cloud-first principles, leveraging modern platforms for scale and efficiency.

What Makes You a Fit

Academic Background:

• B.Tech/BS or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics or related disciplines.

Technical Expertise:

• 35 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (conceptual and logical).
• Advanced skills in Python and Apache Spark (3+ years).
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform AWS, GCP, or Azure (2+ years preferred).
• Knowledge of distributed computing and cloud databases (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery).
• Familiarity with Modern Data Stack tools such as Airflow, Terraform, dbt, Glue, or Dataproc.

Extra Skills:

• Exposure to Hadoop and Shell scripting is a plus.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small teams is an advantage.
