A Day in the Life
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead and drive special projects andprogrammatic initiatives aimed at enhancing the organization’s cybersecurity posture. The successful candidate will
work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions,
optimize processes, and ensure robust security measures and compliance requirements are in place to protect the
organization’s digital assets.
The role of the Project Manager is to ensure the projects deliver the defined scope of deliverables and change initiatives
within the constraints of budget, schedule and quality. This is achieved through effective organization and leadership,
planning and control, budget management, resource management, risk management and issue resolution, change
management and quality management.
Key Responsibilities
Project management of strategic cybersecurity initiatives:
• Responsible for all phases of multiple concurrent projects or a single large-scale, complex program
• Build trust and rapport with key stakeholders and facilitate executive (i.e. VP) level steering committees discussions
• Define program and/or project scope and objectives along with applicable project estimates, detailed work plans, schedules, and resource plans
• Provide leadership to multiple project managers to achieve program objectives with high-quality work products that are delivered on time and on budget
• Ensure end results meet business and stakeholder benefit expectations
• Follow Medtronic’s quality system procedures to ensure compliance with system validation requirements.
• Foster strong working relationships between project team members
• Monitor and control project financial metrics and adjust where necessary to meet scope, schedule and budget expectations
• Follow the IT engagement management model as well as ensure it is aligned with corporate engagement models
• Ensure that Medtronic’s systems and the information on them are protected in accordance with Medtronic’s Information Protection Policies and Standards, as well as best information Protection practices.
• Follow Medtronic’s project management methodology and standard operating procedures
• Provide analytical guidance to project team in support of issue and risk resolutions
Security Risk Management, Governance and Collaboration:
• Align security initiatives with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with GCISO and Infrastructure & Operations and other functional teams to align security measures and provide awareness of security best practices
• Facilitate and govern remediation management activities as defined through risk assessments, to mitigate cyber threats and vulnerabilities
• Ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, through regular audits and assessments
Additional Skills:
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments. • Experience with GRC frameworks and regulatory standards
• Prepare security risk and compliance reports for management review.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
• Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, GICSP) preferred.
Experience:
• 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex cybersecurity initiatives and special projects.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and industry best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess business needs and translate them into actionable cybersecurity solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects or program initiatives concurrently while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
Technical Knowledge:
• Familiarity with security technologies, incident management systems, and tools (ServiceNow, Planisware, Logic Gate, OneTrust).
• Proficiency in security technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, and cybersecurity protocols
