Job Description

Job Title: Credit Analyst Financial & Operational Analysis

Location: Pune

Experience: 3 to 6 Years

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview:

The role involves supporting primary analysts across global regions (North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific) to arrive at and monitor credit ratings for issuers across various industries. Responsibilities include surveillance of a portfolio of companies and responding to market events that may lead to rating changes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Performance Analysis

  • Analyze industry dynamics, regulatory trends, and country/macro-economic risks.
  • Evaluate competitive positioning, strategy execution, and management effectiveness.
  • Assess trends in profitability and perform peer comparisons.

2. Financial Performance Analysis

  • Understand accounting standards, financial governance, and policies.
  • Analyze financial ratios, trends, and liquidity/short-term factors.
  • Evaluate capital structure and overall financial health of companies.

3. Financial Modeling & Reporting

  • Assist primary analysts in preparing historical and projected financial models.
  • Prepare comprehensive internal credit research reports covering operational and financial factors.
  • Support in preparing publishable credit reports and ensure process adherence.

4. Process & Documentation

  • Conduct review/QC and provide analytical inputs as required.
  • Create and maintain training materials, process manuals, and documentation for smooth task execution.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and value-added work.
  • Adhere strictly to compliance, confidentiality, and information security policies.

5. Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain and build relationships with internal teams and clients.
  • Set expectations regarding scope of work and timelines for routine tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines regarding trading/holding in shares of corporate/infrastructure entities.

6. People Development

  • Provide analytical mentoring to junior team members.
  • Implement team-level initiatives and foster a collaborative work environment.

Candidate Profile:

  • Prior experience in analyzing companies financial and operational performance is mandatory.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of key industry risks, competitive forces, and financial/accounting concepts.
  • Positive attitude, team player, innovative, and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to build client relations, take a view based on guidance, and work under pressure.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Two years full-time MBA (Finance) or equivalent OR CA
