About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Craft CMS Developer who can independently architect, build, and optimize content-driven digital experiences. This is a pure Individual Contributor (IC) role, requiring deep technical expertise in Craft CMS along with strong backend and frontend development capabilities.

You will work closely with US-based product and design teams and will be responsible for delivering end-to-end Craft CMS solutions from planning CMS structures to building plugins and handling deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Craft CMS Development

• Build, customize, and maintain Craft CMS sites (v3/v4/v5).
• Architect flexible content models: Sections, Fields, Matrix blocks, Global Sets, Multisite setups.
• Develop custom Craft plugins, modules, and service classes.
• Implement and optimize Twig templates for performance, reusability, and maintainability.
• Manage Craft project configuration, migrations, and version control workflows.

Backend Engineering

• Develop and maintain backend logic using PHP and the Craft/Yii2 ecosystem.
• Design scalable database schemas and optimize MySQL/PostgreSQL queries.
• Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs and third-party services.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and ensure application security.

Frontend Integration

• Build responsive, accessible interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• Work closely with designers to translate UI/UX into Craft templates.
• Ensure seamless communication between front-end and backend systems.

Cloud, Deployment & Ops

• Deploy and manage Craft CMS applications using AWS/GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage build processes, caching layers, image optimization, and server configurations.
• Ensure reliable uptime and efficient deployment workflows.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional web development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Craft CMS (mandatory).
• Deep understanding of Craft CMS architecture and the Yii2 framework.
• Strong backend development skills in PHP.
• Proficiency in MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Strong frontend skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Ability to work independently and manage end-to-end development.
• Excellent communication skills for working with international teams.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience with headless Craft CMS and GraphQL.
• Knowledge of modern JS frameworks (Vue/React).
• Experience with Craft Commerce.
• Familiarity with performance profiling and security best practices.
