Job Title: Senior Controls Design Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Controls Design Engineer with strong exposure to the automotive industry (assembly lines, robotic cells, welding lines, conveyor systems, etc.). The candidate will be responsible for controls and electrical design along with ownership of project design deliverables from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using EPLAN Electric P8

Develop controls architecture for automotive production lines and automated equipment

Design safety circuits complying with ISO/IEC automotive safety standards

Prepare IO lists, cable schedules, interconnection diagrams, and panel GA drawings

Support robot/PLC integration (Siemens/Rockwell/Fanuc/KUKA etc)

Review customer specifications (OEMs & Tier-1 suppliers) and ensure compliance

Create and manage EPLAN projects including device tagging and macros

Generate BOMs, terminal plans, and manufacturing documentation

Coordinate with mechanical, robotics, and commissioning teams

Interact with panel builders and provide shop-floor technical support

Participate in FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and change management activities

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering

35 years of experience in controls design within the automotive domain

Strong expertise in EPLAN Electric P8 (mandatory)

Hands-on experience with PLC wiring, VFDs, safety relays, field instruments

Exposure to automotive standards (Ford,Tata, Mahindra, etc.) preferred

Knowledge of PLC/HMI platforms like Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi

Experience with robotic lines, conveyors, welding or assembly automation is a plus

Working knowledge of AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical

Good understanding of panel manufacturing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning support

Strong communication, team coordination, and documentation skills
