Job Summary

We are looking for Senior Contracts Engineers for industrial EPC/plant projects to manage end-to-end

contracts & commercial activities including tendering, subcontracting, billing, variation orders,

claims, and cost control. The role requires strong coordination with execution, planning,

procurement and finance teams to ensure contract compliance and timely payments.


Key Responsibilities

1) Tendering & Subcontracting

Prepare and float RFQs/tenders for industrial work packages

(civil/MEP/mechanical/instrumentation).

Finalize scope of work, BOQ, technical-commercial evaluation (TBE/CBE) and comparative

statements.

Negotiate with vendors/subcontractors on rates, payment terms, schedules, LD clauses,

retention etc.

Issue work orders/LOIs and maintain subcontractor records.


2) Contract Administration

Manage day-to-day contract execution as per GCC/SCC, special conditions and commercial

terms.

Draft/review amendments, addendums, rate approvals and contract correspondence.

Ensure documentation control: approvals, drawings/specs references, MOMs, letters and site

instructions.


3) Billing & Measurement (RA / Final Bills)

Validate subcontractor bills with joint measurements, MB, reconciliation, and supporting

documents.

Verify RA bills, final bills and certify quantities as per BOQ/approved variations.

Coordinate with site teams for measurement certification, as-built references and execution

confirmations.

Track payment milestones, deductions, retention, advances, TDS/GST inputs (as applicable).


4) Variation Orders, Extra Items & Claims

Identify scope changes and raise VOs/extra item proposals with rate analysis and approvals.

Prepare & evaluate claims related to extra quantities, time impact, price escalation (if

applicable).

Maintain VO log, claims register and support closure of commercial disputes.


5) Cost Control & MIS

Track committed cost vs budget; highlight overruns and provide cost-saving suggestions.

Maintain MIS: billing status, VO tracker, subcontractor payment forecast, reconciliation

reports.

Provide inputs for cash flow planning and monthly project commercial reviews.


6) Contract Closeout

Ensure completion certificates, final reconciliation, document handover, and contract

closure.

Support audits and ensure compliance with internal commercial processes.

Industrial Exposure Required (Preferred by Discipline)

Civil: Industrial foundations, RCC/structural, flooring, finishing packages, BOQ & measurements.

Electrical: HT/LT works, cable laying, panels, earthing, lighting, industrial electrification billing.

Mechanical: Piping, fabrication/erection, equipment installation, insulation, static equipment works.

Instrumentation: Cable tray/instrument cabling, hook-up, installation, loop checking, package billing.


Required Skills

Strong knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, RA billing, contract clauses, variations, claims.

Experience in industrial EPC / plant projects with multiple subcontract packages.

Proficiency in MS Excel (comparatives, trackers, cost sheets) + MS Office.

ERP/SAP exposure is an advantage.

Strong negotiation, communication, and coordination abilities.
