Job Description

The candidate will be part of the Index Calculation Services Data Operations Team (ICSDOT) which is responsible for the maintenance and calculation of Refinitiv and Custom Indices. Team is composed of experienced financial professionals that provide support for our clients around the world.

The Senior Content Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of Refinitiv and Custom Calculated ICW (Index, Constituent and Weightings) Content and will research stock and company information for all companies of an assigned portfolio, including price validation, corporate actions such as dividends and splits, attribute assignments, and share/ownership research. The Senior Content Analyst must therefore understand global equity markets. Also need to monitor and validate the data and proactively raise suspects. Required to work on Eikon and DataScope suite of products and on Electron (Real-Time) and NDA (Time Series). This role requires the analysts to work on all shifts (including night shifts) and be flexible for weekend work (if required), which could be mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Index construction and maintenance for the various FR (Heritage Refinitiv) /Custom Calculated, Thematic, capped, Smart and ESG Indices including the Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annual, and Annual rebalancing of Indices.
  • Detailed understanding of the index rebalancing framework and capabilities, to support the development and maintenance of the Indices on databases like IMINT (Index Management Interface), GEDA and NDA
  • Research and Analysis on Market-Driven Events impacting Index calculation
  • Closely monitor and track announced corporate actions. Monitor multiple news sources for new corporate action announcements.
  • Research, verify and correctly input dividends and corporate actions (as specified in a relevant task list) into our proprietary database, following operational procedures and Refinitiv Equity Indices Policies & Practices - Methodology
  • Provide backup functions for other team members and perform assigned QA tasks
  • Recommend methodology enhancements in close consultation with clients and Index Managers
  • Identify gaps and shortcomings in the current processes, procedures, services and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Knowledge of DAMON, Experience working on Service Alerts and experience in creating Content Notifications is added advantage
  • Alert internal and external clients when data issues are identified.
  • Participate as and when required in any projects or initiatives, supporting the onboarding of new business into the team.

Price Validation and Verifications

  • Validate system-captured prices. Must review captured prices against multiple sources and research and resolve any discrepancies under restrictive timelines
  • Responsible for verifying the correctness for hundreds of securities across multiple markets and working to strict deadlines
  • Help to test and implement major system and workflow enhancements

Client Query Management

  • The candidate supports our client facing organization by responding to client coverage questions related to existing product features, pricing, and functionality; developing user guides and documentation; assisting with client communications.
  • Helping clients to understand how to interpret the analysis produced on their portfolios understanding the structure of our indices.
  • Provide timely updates, investigation, and resolution to clients, when requested, on any pending requests or tickets.

Communication Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicate any issues to the rest of the team and Team Lead, as appropriate
  • Actively contribute and lead training of other team members.
  • Promote a good teamwork ethic across the teams, actively encouraging interaction and aiding others where required.

Requirements:

  • A demonstrable understanding of global financial markets
  • Requires excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities
  • Ability to work under stringent time constraints, multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required, fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • Must be proficient in interpreting and analyzing corporate filings and related documents, and apply that analysis to the data inputs underlying Refinitiv and Custom Calculated Indices
  • This role requires the analysts to work on all shifts (Majorly in night shifts only) and be flexible for weekend work (if required), which could be mandatory.
